I'm on Flames

A few weeks ago, I went on a leather rampage at one of my favorite thrift shops and bought three leather mini skirts all in Skittle colors, and this is one of them- it kind of reminds me of those cherry red Chloe shorts from the Spring 2009 collection I've had my eye on for some time now. 

Going swimming right now... I'm like a mermaid.

Liberian Girl

Finally the sun has turned up here in LA and it's so beautiful- perfect weather for micro shorts and silk draped blouses. This incredible heat also allows us to wear the least amount of clothes possible without looking like a freak. 

I found this tulle and lace collar over the weekend at a local vintage shop in Hollywood and figured I could just take it over the top by pairing it with other silk and lace pieces... only issue is it itches like crap!

By the way, I think Beyonce looked amazing on the red carpet at the BET awards, she wears Balmain like a damn rockstar:

White Knight

Went and got my hair trimmed yesterday and my hair stylist Irene decided to go with a mini mohawk/pixie cut... pretty awesome. Speaking of hair salons (kind of), next Friday I'll be a "special guest" on my hair salon, Hairroin's live talk show where you can all tune in and ask me questions about anything fashion/life/beauty etc. I'll make sure to get more information on how to register to the site and everything, but I'm really excited!

Beth from Motel was kind enough to send over this crazy cheetah print dress that I'm completely in love with. 

I've been hanging out with my best friends (which I never see because they live so far away) and we've spent our time laughing, eating, and doing nothing but making fun of each other. It's a beautiful relationship we have.

The Last Straw

Been out of the loop lately, and yes, I'm about to give you the usual excuse... I'm busy with finals.

 One of my final projects is to come up with my own clothing company and design a summer or fall line. I was really excited when I was given the assignment, but it has become quite stressful due to the amount of work it takes to actually put the line into production- cost sheets, spec sheets, color stories, fabric choice, even if the concept behind the line was difficult to put together (but that's only because I had about a million different directions I wanted it to go in). I ended up drawing inspiration from Dries Van Noten A/W 09 strange color combinations and the shapes, lines, and volume from the Balenciaga S/S 08 show:

Looking forward to seeing the outcome of this project- it totally made me excited about creating my own line in the future.
